    Wedding with the D4/D800

Hi Mike, I don't retouch people in my photos, in fact I barely edit my photos and I don't use or even have Photoshop installed on my computer. I don’t know what Topaz is but you said action so I assume some PS plugin. The women were blemish free but they also had makeup on as well!? I only...

    Wedding with the D4/D800

Hi Bruce, yes just primes, mainly the 35/85mm f/1.4G. ISO range is probably 1600 for most and up to 6400 during the dancing with 1 SB910 on either side of the room at about 1/64th power.

You are welcome to criticize even though I didn’t ask for any but at least know what you are talking about first. There is NO noise reduction.

Thanks everyone, it was fun wedding as most are for me and why I continue to shoot them.

    Wedding with the D4/D800

Thanks for the comments guys... Dave, yes I typically only use flash (off camera) at the receptions and even then only if required. I prefer available light even if it'a artificial like street lamps etc...

    Wedding with the D4/D800

Finally shot a wedding with the D4/D800 combo and the 24/35/85mm f/1.4G lesnes. I used the D4 for most of the wedding and only used the D800 for the formals and as a 2nd camera during the ceremony and some reception shots. http://samobeid.com/shangri-la-banquet-hall-convention-centre-jennie-john/

Why not the 2 button format? Faster than going into the menu.

    D800 CF & SD cards

Yep, B&H is my goto for memory cards, near 50% cheaper than buying in the great white north, even when they are on sale here. I bought a couple of 64GB CFs, a few 32GB CFs and SD and XQD, they're big and not cheap and I probably $1500 over buying local and that is after taxes, duty and shipping...

    D4 in Canada

I got mine on Monday and it came with the card and reader. Incidently I'm selling my 16GB XQD card once my 32GB cards arrive. Ordered a D800 at the same time, it has not come in yet, hoping tomorrow.

Who owns both D4 and D800?

Picked up my D4 yesterday but no ETA for the D800. I'm hoping next week now.

Who owns both D4 and D800?

You mean these bad boys? No not mine, from a studio party I was at and NPS was there with a couple of D4s and D800s for us to play with. Hoping to get my units next week.

Wedding Photography and the D4 and D800(e)

Identical bodies are ideal, but not enough for me to justify two D4s and I didn't want 2 D800s. I'm not worried about using two different Nikon bodies. Sure mixing with Canon or Sony would be a bit of a pain. But the AF-On buttons and the dials are in the sames spots and that is all I use for...

    D800 Memory Recommendation

I know more people that lost images by losing their card then people who lost mages from a bad card. I used to use 4GB & 8GB cards with the D700s and backed up throughout the wedding day to a Hyperdrive but now with the dual card slots I feel confident using big cards, thus the 64GB...

I bought 64GB Sandisk Extreme Pros CF & SD, will shoot RAW to both cards.

Wedding Photography and the D4 and D800(e)

Been shooting weddings with a pair of D700s for the last 4 seasons. Both are. Both are now sold and I have a D4 & D800 on the way, hopefully here on Monday. My plan is D4 almost all day with the D800 coming out for the ceremony (only time I really use 2 bodies at the same time) and for formal...

    D7000 and Windows Live Moviemaker???

ummmm When is this crash hapening, give me a play by play of what you are doing starting right after you've taken a video with your camera. Are you importing the file from the camer with WLMM or coping the file oevr with Explorer then importing into a project?

A little video I made with the D7000

I'm no videographer but it's still fun to play. Took my little guy to the mall bookstore and let him run wild. Nikon D7000 and the 24mm f/.4G Handheld, ISO 1600, 24p http://vimeo.com/17787589

    D7000 and Windows Live Moviemaker???

Your machine sounds like mine except I'm running Win 7. Do you have the latest version? http://explore.live.com/windows-live-movie-maker?os=other I would also install the latest version of Quicktime so it installs the latest CODEC.

    D7000 and Windows Live Moviemaker???

Well without knowing your system I can't really help. Running out memory? Bad video driver, so many variables. I'm no videographer by any stretch but here is a little movie I made with WLMM. Just downlaod the trial of Premiere Pro CS5, it's going to be a steep learning curve...

    D7000 and Windows Live Moviemaker???

Windows Live Movie Maker will open and edit the Nikon D7k files. BTW, .mov is a file format (Apple) or a container if you will and can have various CODECs one of which is the H.264 codec. Even if WLMM didn't didn't support it that would be the silliest reason to switch. There are plenty of...

    Showcase Nikon 24mm f/1.4 G AF-S - Part I

There is a bit of an error in my testing. The 24-70 is longer than the 24 so it was actually closer to the subject. I placed the body in the same spot but what I should have done is place the front edge of the lens in the same spot.

A quick test of the 24 vs the 24-70. Shot in raw processed in LR with my settings. The Auto WB was a little warmer with the 24-70 so I adjusted it to match the 24. Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8G @ 2.8 Original Nikon 24mm f/1.4G @ 2.8 Original Nikon 24mm f/1.4G @ 1.4 Original
