my wife and I went there for our honeymoon in 2005. I bought this book and took it with us...came in very handy on a few trips:
The nicest thing about that book...
Success does not always equal happiness. Just look at Kurt Cobain.
He could have been suffering from any sort of mental/physical illness that could have contributed to this or it could have been something else in his life.
After taking some more pics, I cancelled my order. This is a nice camera and got a ton of questions about it, but I think it needs more work.
Pics are too grainy and no editing software. And they REALLY need to make it work on the iPad. Sucks to have to go home and then download the pics
Rather than continue the other thread, I thought I would start one here so that those who own one can talk and share pics.
A friend on another forum sent me his to check it out while I'm waiting for mine.
Initial impressions: wow! VERY cool little camera! I opened the box in my office...
The lack of activity on Lytro's support forums gives me second thoughts about this. I asked a couple of questions that haven't been answered.
They really need to stay on top of the Support section to alleviate any doubts.
I'm still going to get it though.
I sold off my D700 and glass awhile ago and honestly, I don't miss lugging around that. In fact, I have gotten to the point of using my D5000 & 18-55 less and less. Which really disheartens me because I love taking pics.
It's just that I don't like this big ole camera.
So I have been using my...
Thanks Chris. Checked out your blog, will bookmark it. I wonder if you would get more readers if you just dedicated your FB page to it? Or...can you create something on FB to share your pictures? A page that is.
I keep going back and forth on whether I made the right decision.
Can you take any...
I'm past considering...I placed an order today for the graphite one.
I'll be sure to ask all sorts of questions as the time gets closer and when it arrives, hopefully in June. (I wonder why such a delay? Lots of orders or are they building them on order?)
Where did you get that 10+ diopter...
Interesting. #8 of 12 in section Corners and Edges. I try to focus on the upper left corner of the photo (not the yellowish object, but the cup or whatever it's in) and it won't focus.
Is this a limitation of online or can you not focus on it on your computer too?
I have been looking at Lytro's site this morning and am THIS close to purchasing one. I'm checking out your pictures on their site.
The section you took called "close focal test results" is interesting. Looks like bright objects like the window doesn't appear to focus like the...
I have been to the Uganda/Rwanda border and Kigali is pretty far south of there. Will you be going to the mountains near the Uganda border? (I THINK that's the only place where the gorillas are in the mountains...right?)
I have some pictures from there, but not all are scanned in. this was back...
Go big blue!
Last night's game was a much bigger game than any this whole tournament. The rivalry between Louisville & Kentucky is huge here.
Beating Louisville is great....winning the NCAA championship will be just icing on the cake. :). We beat KU once before this season.
Either you make some serious cash in your regular job or you are in deep debt.
But if you want to have a good relationship with your wife, I would suggest not purchasing expensive things without her knowing. Just my 2 cents.
ha! I think I made enough enemies from this thread to warrant me not doing another one. :big grin:
I'm a taskmaster at heart and so that's what drove me with this....and I finally got to use the lens after how many years since I signed up! Very cool lens!
For those that homebrew, I do the...
Well, I requested this thread becomes "unstickied" since we are finished with it. The lens is off to Paul. I was waiting for some word on the box and hoped to ship it along with the lens to Paul, but Paradiddle has chosen to ignore me. I will be contacting him again soon.
Thanks all for...
Well, got home tonight so don't have much daylight. I will have more time this weekend

Wow, thread is active again!
Yes, I let Jody keep it through the holidays due to the craziness of shipping and all that. I didn't want to take the chance of the lens getting lost.
So once he's done, he'll ship it to me and I'll give it a whirl with the lens and then ship it off to Paul.
I am sorely disappointed in the sports pics, they look good on the viewfinder and terrible when I get home.
I have learned one thing about this camera: I'm glad I rented it and not bought it.
While slow motion is cool and I do really want to have that ability, other than that, I'm finding this...
It arrived this afternoon and wouldn't you know, I left my SD card at home! Doh! oh well, I leave work in 15 minutes.
Definately small, but I like it. Feels solid for such a little thing. The flash is TINY! Took me a few minutes to play around with it and figure it out.
The LCD display on the...
