Nnnno... I completely disagree there! Maybe its just me, but I take (In My Opinion) some good photos, and others seem to like them too, and if alot of other people have to crop alot of their shots, for reasons other than animals/vehicles, then, aren't They the ones that need to read the books...

Waste of time! I hate it when people go on about the rule of thirds and all that, if I AM the one taking the photo, I will have it how I want it, not how some text book photo should look like, I look through the viewfinder, and frame what I want to see in the end result, if its not fully...

OT: Caution - May Contain Nuts

As the good old American saying goes, "Where there's a Blame, there's a Claim!" So, its, in my opinion, mainly down to the Americans, not being Countryist or anything!

Playing with flash with the car

Flash can do wonders, and certainly does in this shot, I like it. How about doing a shot from the middle/front of the car, and ligthing up both sides, so you get this effect, but on bot sides, and the centre is blacked out? Just an idea. And how about, if you havent got 2 flashes, then having...

    is iso necessary anymore?

Well, for me, if I wanted to do a long exposure, of say about 30 seconds, in day light, it wouldnt be possible, without VERY high overexposure, unless using a LOW ISO like 100.

    Do You Ask Permission?

Interesting, quite 2 sided... I dont usually take pictures of people I dont know, but on my first day of owning my camera, I was at the cliff, and saw a man sat staring, it looked good, I walked past...Thought about it, and asked if hed mind me taking a picture of him, he stayed in the original...

The Best thing about where you live... ?

Portland, Dorset, UK. Home of Portland Stone. Its a small town/village as an island(Tombola to be correct), with about 15,000 inhabitants, and relativley low crime. And its full of stuff like this, military/derlict places, got to love it for that alone!

Over-the-top watermarks - What is wrong with some people?

Some I see ARE OTT, by alot, others, are okay, and look quite good. I never have watermarked, or signatured ANY of my photos (Or anybody elses to clear things!) But, if I was to potentially sell one of my images, I would use a subtle PROOF, like someone else said, and/or lower the resolution...

What would you do to this photo

RayG's is my fav. so far. A quick 1 minute go, and I think it looks good... Quite a bit was done, highlighting, shadowing, fill ights, lowered again, decrease saturation. And here it is.

    Some more "Amazing Circles" !

These look great, is there any other way of doing it, non PhotoShop? Also, if you were to do them by 90o instead of 180o, would it be more of a horizontal fisheye effect, rather than planet? And if anyones done any, can we see some examples please, thanks, Tom.
