    Pembrokeshire in mono

On the basis that there was a lot of cloud cover and very little colour to be had I decided to convert these shots into mono. The Welsh coastline has some amazing places, this is a very small sample. All comments welcome, thank you. 1) Broad Haven-1 by John Alexander, on Flickr 2) Broad...

    Osprey and the James' River

Thanks Randy - I'm sure yu'll have a great time. Also, as much as a 500mm pf would be useful I found that being able to zoom out for some of the shots was helpful. Thanks Allan.

    Heron 1 - Fish 0

Many thanks for your comments. I must admit it was definitely one of those things that you don't believe until you see it with your own eyes, and even then you're not 100% sure! :)

    Heron 1 - Fish 0

Glad you like the shots. Allan, those three shots were taken in less than two minutes. In the third you can still see the fish is making its way down the heron's throat but in answer to your question I would say the whole process was over in less than three minutes.

Center for Birds of Prey, Awendaw, South Carolina

Thank you Terri, I can definitely recommend this place. Not only is it interesting, a good place for photos but they also do a lot of work treating any injured birds that they find or get handed in.

Center for Birds of Prey, Awendaw, South Carolina

This is a short drive from Charleston in South Carolina. Although visitors can spend as much time as they want looking at the various birds they have, most people spend a couple of hours there. The first hour is a guided tour of the various cages and their inhabitants, the second hour is the...

Any tips for my next road trip?

All, thanks again for the tips I did manage to get to some of the places suggested Without doubt the highlight was the Eagle Tour on the James River, a fascinating and most enjoyable two hours. The Wright Brothers Memorial

You have to wonder what Wilbur and Orville would make of plane travel today! The last shot is the field that marks the extent of their first powered flight. Taken from the hill that they first used as a take off point for their gliding flights and is now the home to the monument. All comments...

Swans and cygnets in Richmond Park
