Sounds like he left a bitter taste in your mouth.
You need to let that go and continue to enjoy what you like best, taking images.
The way I look at it is like this, he's a professional and probably works for the NP.
He is definitely on a schedule and has very limited time to get the...
I went on assignment to shoot at the Lone Star Park in Grand Prairie, Texas.
I must say it was a very enjoyable experience and cannot wait to go back.
My Top 50 located in link below:
I can only personally speak for the 400 2.8 VR and D3, they are simply awesome together!! I hear the nano coating and newer technology is worth the difference in price. I have been shooting the Dallas Cup all week and my shooting buddy has the MKIII & 400 2.8 IS lens, you can certainly tell a...
First of all Anthony,
No, I have not read or heard anything about Steve's past post history regarding this issue. If this has been an on going thing with others in the past, then I can see why he felt the need to post a new thread. It's just shortly after my post, the mentioning of starting...
I find this new topic about watermarking very amusing.
You stated that some have dinged you about it.
As some may know, I was the one who actually brought it up about your WM being a bit too dark for my liking. You for some reason have turned this WM topic into a personal attack to...
I was not implying to remove your watermark entirely.
I know all about the NHL editoral use and all.
I cover games for the NHL Dallas Stars myself and know they employ a strict policy.
I shoot for Icon, Cal & Eclipse to name a few and would not do anything to jepordize my relationship with...
Does anyone out there know where I can find one of these.
Its a credentials badge where you put you media pass in while shooting an event. It has the Nikon name on it. I have seen these around and called Nikon at the nikon mall & NPS and no one knows anything.
I wouldn't say only luck is involve, but it sure helps.
I shoot for several photography agencies such as Icon Media, & Cal Sports Media to name a couple. While they are great sources, there are other ways to make money shooting sports. I have shot sports at the college level for several years...
I was not really looking for comments other than for others to see that most don't get the opportunity to shoot. I shoot Cheer Comp on a regular basis and its extremely hard for outside photogs to shoot on the floor since they are contracted to companies that I happened to shoot for.
Who actually uses the 3D focus mode for sporting events and is it the best method. I have been to two websites and they say that 3D focus method is better for sports. I've never tried this mode so whats your take.
In reference to the last two posts.
I agree that was the problem in the first place, but I still feel there is room for improvement in the mount when compared to canons. I also agree with you in that I was still thinking canon, since thats all I shot for 12+ years, no excuses, I should have...
Your right, a painful lesson it is indeed.
Thats why I bought the D300 to help eliminate the potential problems and dust.
I shot -8- soccer games yesterday and -3- HS football games from thursday & friday, I also shot -4- JV football games also on thursday and was supposed to shoot North...
I agree the white dot can be really tough to see at times, but it appears that the camera did not make a proper fit (because of user error) and caused something inside the body to rake across the pins, causing some minor damage to 2 or 3 pins. This could be the reason why I continue...
Sure, I will give nikon another go at it because I have more than $25K all ready invested to just quit now, but if I continue to have problems, then I will have no choice and move to a different direction. It just frustrates me because I have to shoot a college football game this saturday and...
The lens mounts are not my only concern, especially since I'm having the flutter problem. Is that related to the orig problem or is it a new issue? I didn't have that issue the first go round, a couple of the spring loaded pins were not protruding as they were supposed to, which caused the...
Thats another option I will explore tomorrow. I work for several photog companies, and one of them is with NPS, I already contacted him to see about doing just that. I agree with you in that it would be the fastest way.
Yes, I paid for it myself to have it fixed and no I didn't use alot of force. C'mon I have shot professionally for 14-yrs. and I'm not stupid. Its not yet proven that the new problem is associated with the older one, but it could be. Like I said, I had it fixed about 3-months ago. As for the...
Was used to mounting canon to the right and since it didn't mount, I apparently applied too much force the sensative nikon mount. Regardless, canon's mount is keyed to go in one way or NOT, while nikon IMO leaves room for error because of the many protruding moving parts.
I have the 400VR 2.8 lens which has caused me nothing but trouble.
I bought this lens new for $8200 at Competitive Camera about 3-months ago.
I was at a paying gig on its first outing and apparently I didn't connect my D3 to the lens correctly which caused the lens mount to strip. I had the...
I know for sure its not a fake, but my 8gig III definitely is. I did read about the info on RG and noticed the card was ranked up there, so it appears that the problem could be somewhere else. I always have the LCD turned off. My other card is a Ridata 16gig 233x, which I found is poorly...
The sandisk extreme III says on the card that its a 30mb per sec transfere rate.
What full settings would you be looking for?
I feel its somewhere in the settings as well, but which ones is beyond me so far.
I did turn off the high noise filter & D-Active.
Not sure what else to do.
Just simply awesome shots my friend!!!
I too have the same setup as you and wondered what settings were you using.
I shoot soccer and football and it appears to struggle focusing at times with the action.
Do you use single point focus.
I use the following:
It appears that after firing around 8 to 10 shots, the buffer in the camera appears to be full and struggling to take in more shots.
Ex. When football team first comes out, I can only get a few players coming towards me and can only then get just a few shots (maybe 4+ shots) of cheerleaders...
I have shot sports with canon's 1D series cameras for 14 years now and have always used the AF button on the rear only. My hit to miss ratio is usually around 85% or so, but if I shoot w/front focus, I guarantee it will certainly drop. I currently am still adjusting with the D3 because @ the...
I was like 15 feet back from 3rd base side because I got hit by a foul ball and because I could not see it coming due to the **** poor lights. Click on my link to see more on the baseball folder if you'd like.
My only point was to show my shots as action and being able to still get a decent image while @ 6400 ISO. I can shoot wildlife all day or anything thats not moving @ 6400 ISO and get that same shot. IMO the D3 is head & shoulders above anything out there while shooting action @ 6400 ISO.
