It's greyed out as you use the switch on the lens to turn VR on or off (vs using the menu option). This gives you only one point for selecting VR vs two to avoid confusion.
One way to tell if VR is working is to shake the camera while looking through the viewfinder (at least that's how I do it!).
Battery life on my Z7 is all over the place. I've seen as high as 800+ shots with 20% left using the 70-200VR taken in one location ), and as low as 200 with adapted lenses during various photowalks. I have GPS enabled through SnapBridge all the time.
"Gillet states that the main limitation of the Nikon F mount is that it can’t physically support autofocus lenses faster than f/1.4. The new Z mount shatters that barrier, as evidenced by the upcoming Nikon 58mm f/0.95 Noct Z-mount lens."
The 58mm is MF.
It IS the aperture stop down actuator. It's the same as the one on the FT1 (too lazy to post images of the FT1).
When an F-mount lens is not mounted on a camera, the aperture stops down as there is a spring that pulls it close (don't know about the E lenses as I don't have one). Mount the lens...
I have the same card reader (not much of a selection), and I left the card in it last weekend. User error, but the card just disappears in the slot.
And I agree, I've never tried to upload by connecting the camera to my computer.
That’s been claimed as the reason why the top end models don’t have built-in flash or tilt screens.
Personally I would have preferred a swivel screen like the D5200 etc but oh well.
For the price you pay for a Leica, that cell phone should be free.
The tripod stump makes it a bit uncomfortable to hold, more so than the FT1 which has a wider foot.
Limited use so far, but no AF issues with the 85mm f1.8G and 35mm f1.8 ED. Randomly shot a skater with the 85mm wide open and center AF, and the camera nailed the focus. Haven't tried focusing...
I used my SC-29 last night, and found the outer insulation cracked and discolored in several places. I'm not sure what happened as the cable is stored in a dry closet, but it has been several months since I last used it.
What are my options for a remote trigger system that maintains iTTL and...

Adding a Sigma 50-500mm f/4-6.3 EX HSM, Nikon mount.
This is the first version of the lens, not the DG nor the OS version. It is HSM (Sigma's equivalent of AF-S), so it will work with any Nikon DSLR.
The glass is clean, with a little dust inside. Aperture blades are snappy and free of oil. AF...

Up for sale is a barely used Ray Flash RAN160 ring flash adapter in good condition. This model is for the SB-800 and bodies without a built-in vertical grip, but I have used it on a D3. I didn't get to use this much, and hopefully someone else will put it to good use.
More information on this...

Managed to get up early enough to head to the staging area for Carnaval SF. Got down low to the ground for this shot. I should have zoomed out a bit more, not sure how I missed that.
