LOL I TRY to get it in camera but rarely do, John. I am far from not spending time in post. I think it's food for thought though. I know I need to spend more time on technique and less time trying to figure out Adobe software. My pro acquaintance on the other hand, nails it in camera but he's...
Isn't the point to get it right in the camera? I have an acquaintance who is a national award winning photojournalist who has never shot RAW. His mantra is work on getting it right when you shoot, not spending hours trying to make it right in software after the fact. I don't mean to stir things...
A bit of an illustration of what this scene would convey for someone who is deaf. This would be tranquil with no traffic sound disturbing the scene.
It's a lovely capture. I like the steps leading my eye along the water to the building and gorgeous sky at the end.

You've all made wonderful contributions in my absence (my apologies - textile art workshops this week).
I'm trying to get links via Flickr and for the life of me I can't figure out where they've hidden it with the new Flickr layout. I'm not a fan.
Well done with your interpretation of the theme! Visual cues become so very important when the auditory system is compromised. You've illustrated that beautifully. One of my favourite quotes comes from Helen Keller who said "Blindness separates us from things but deafness separates us from people".
Welcome to Collective Shoot #392 (wow! can't believe the Cafe has done that many). I am happy to step up to the plate for an annual swing at hosting. Thinking it's going to be a baseball theme? No. May is Speech & Hearing Month so to celebrate it (audiologist by day, photographer by night and...
Good on ya! Next month will be a year since I was Dx'd. A1C was 12, blood glucose was 22.
Having dropped 70lb and spending 2sessions a week with Elaine from the House of Pain ( retired phys ed teacher turned fitness trainer) I'm in better shape than ever. Towing the line with diet and exercise...
I've moved to Fuji exclusively now and am deciding which Nikon gear to sell. Anyone shooting Fuji X series able to comment on viability of using Nikon speed lights in slave mode with their Fujis? I don't want to sell it if it can be used fairly easily as a slave.
The Cream Machine will NEVER be...
I downloaded LR5.4 today but have run into a glitch. Under 'settings' in develop mode, I tried to to enable "auto sync" for the iPad app but it is greyed out. Anyone have any insights about how to solve the greyed out status?
Thanks a mill!
Great set! How did you find the AF speed with the xt1 vs x100s and X-E1? I've not yet been happy with Fuji at concerts. Wondering about going for the xt1 rather than wait for xp2. Would love to hear your thoughts about AF
