Is my PC's Processor Enough for ON1 Photo2017?

ON1 2017.1 is dog slow on my i7, 12gig and SSD. Try before you buy. It's too bad because it seems like a good program.

Tamron SP 70-200MM F/2.8 DI VC USD

I just picked up this lens and will use it mostly for indoor school events. I haven't had the opportunity to check it out yet but hope to in the near future. I took a few quick focusing shots at my focus target and it looks pretty good wide open. December 31'st is the last day to get the...

    Showcase Sigma 150-600mm

I considered returning mine and getting something lighter but the push/pull zoom feature is why I kept it. I do use it on a monopod with a ball head and find that with the Jobu foot the balance on a monopod is fine. I saw a Youtube where the guy suggests using the ball head at 90° in the slot...

I almost went for that one but I felt that it wasn't long enough to get perfect balance on a gimbal so I decided on the Jobu simply for that reason.

Weird, I thought it was free for those who never had a free membership before. If you once had a free membership that ran out you must upgrade to at least a silver to continue. I guess they discontinued the free initial membership then, sorry.

Thanks. It was so long ago I don't recall if it was onboard flash or if I had my SB800 back then....likely onboard. I was brand new to photography not that I'm much beyond that now.

Do you use RAW of JPG for fast action sports?

I haven't compared 12 vs 14 bit quality yet but I can get 9 shots off with faster recovery with 12bit lossless compressed vs 5 shots of 14 bit. I saw no noticeable differences between lossless compressed and just compressed.

Do you use RAW of JPG for fast action sports?

Thanks. I guess I should have done more research before picking up the D7100. Next game I'm going to use my D600 which does not have this issue.

Do you use RAW of JPG for fast action sports?

I found that with my D7100 I can shoot a burst of 5 raw shots and then it slows down to what seems like one a second. Pausing needs to be at least 3 or 4 seconds to get that 5 shot burst again. My SD cards are Sandisk Extreme Pro 95mbs microsd cards which perform the same as the full size...

JRMS Middle School Girls Field Hockey

Allan, thanks. I used auto ISO because with my cataracts I really cant see the LCD outside to see what's going on. iso ranged from 360-6400(which I had set as max) I also ran into some bogging down of the memory writing so about 2/3's of the way through I switched from Large RAW+Fine to just...

JRMS Middle School Girls Field Hockey

OK, New lens and new to me camera, D7100 and a Sigma 150-600 Sport. Game was late in the day, after 5pm so the sun was going down and the lighting wasn't great. Lots of high iso shots. I performed some rudimentary post processing with LR, use auto tone, made a preset for noise and sharpness...

Mkemd21, Thanks. These last two games were my first experience with a large field. With the lens at 600mm that damn focus point is all over the place ;) I seemed to settle in pretty quick with the monopod, again something I'm not used to. I also should have moved down closer to the home team...

Another game but this time as the sun was going down, new lens, manual mode, wide open at f6.3, 1/1600, iso 3200, 490mm (735mm), standing with monopod, distance to this goal was at least 300' as the field was surrounded with a larger running track.. some crop for composition, noise reduction...

Just got my Jobu foot from B&H. Took 3 weeks to special order it. $128 shipped which is half the cost of the Sigma foot. I hope to try it out tomorrow at a field hockey game. It definitely makes it easier to hold the lens and it should be long enough to get a good balance on my gimbal and...

So I just returned my Sport and got another from Amazon. They were good enough to allow me to return it after the 30 day window. I took it to my granddaughter's field hockey game and was disappointed with the results. Nothing was crisp and I took about 200 shots. I posted in the sports forum...

I did a lot of checking, it does seem to need about +2 but that isn't the issue. Nothing appears to be very sharp or it's blooming. Here's one, still at 150mm but closer. Focus point was her neck and chin. 1/640, f7, iso 400. You have me thinking that most of the issue is my technique. What would be a good minimum shutter speed for this kind of action. Here's she's just walking fo 1/640 should have been enough. EDIT...

So I took my D7100 and Sigma Sport yesterday to my granddaughters field hockey game and I'm totally depressed with how the pics came out. It was a partly cloudy day with breaks of sun. I was sitting on the first row bleachers with a monopod so between sitting and the monopod I was pretty...

    New to birding

Hi all, I just bought a Sigma 150-600 Sport and I'd like to do some bird photography. I have a nice grassy pond behind me and there is usually some blue heron around. I did see one fly over my house last week but I don't know if there are many still around this time of year in New Hampshire...

Thinktank Glass Taxi (ebay used) and the lens (hood reversed) with D7100 mounted and grip in a pocket. I could mount the grip if I turn the camera around but then the top of the camera will extend beyond the sides of the bag and I think it would be susceptible to bumps and bruises. To carry...

    What to buy next.

Water under the bridge since you ordered a D750 but the full frame camera is going to cut into the reach of that 70-200 for sports unless you do most of your shooting at the short end you may find yourself needing a TC....and then you'll have an f4 lens.

Help with Sigma USB dock shooting distance.

Thanks All, I spend way more time than I should have using Focal Pro and I found it to be a bit inconsistent...it may have been my lighting.
