    Camera/lens issue

Problem was solved. I down graded my firmware from 1.04 to 1.03 and the Sigma started working. The Sigma lives on my D500. Until I had occasion to use it on the D7100. I had updated the D7100 firmware some months ago.

    Camera/lens issue

That didn't work Mike. I guess I need to get in touch with Sigma and Nikon repair.

    Camera/lens issue

An issue just cropped up on my D7100/Sigma 50-150 F/2.8 combo. The lens will not auto focus. The display on the top of the body shows the AF-C icon flashing very erratically. When I push the center button on the AF/M switch on the body to change the focus mode. That causes the grid in the view...

Thanks Nick. I need to head out your way more often. Shot some of the barns in the Colfax area last year. Currently I'm the president of the Blue Mountain photo club. We are on facebook. We are mostly a ragtag group of retirement age amateur photogs. Can't seem to get younger folk to let go of...

Not sure how it did it. But my D500 managed to catch a static subject. Something most reviews say the camera isn't made to do.

ANY Nikon DSLR bodies (10mp+) that take N/Ai Lenses w/o any modifications?

We can get in a hurry at times so we don't miss a shot. So the warnings are a good thing. Even if it's only for your own conscience. I myself have one old AI lens. A 300 mm F/4.5. A bit finicky focusing on our modern clear focus screens. Even been thinking of changing focus screen to one of the...

ANY Nikon DSLR bodies (10mp+) that take N/Ai Lenses w/o any modifications?

And therein lay the rub VPT. (Should, if your careful, You probably won't break it) That's ok with your camera. I'm not sure why you didn't post that precautionary bit in your post on Feb 17th. That would have sucked if someone just slapped on a non-ai per your post and broke or bent the index...

ANY Nikon DSLR bodies (10mp+) that take N/Ai Lenses w/o any modifications?

VPT. Not true. If you mount a non-ai on a body that has the indexing tabs. The edge of the lens will push in and possibly break that indexing tab. The only modern bodies that can mount non-ai's are the D3XXX, D5XXX and the D7500. None of those has the indexing tab.

Oops, should not have done that.....

I've been very lucky in that I haven't had the " I shouldn't do this but did it and had it go wrong" (Fingers crossed) Although I did have my spider holster screw back out of my D7100 while hiking to proxy falls in Oregon. The camera fell to the floor right between two rocks. There happened to...

    D850 vs My Nose

My nose hits the lock button at times. But I'm lucky and can use both eyes. Give's my shooting eye a break, I even sometimes keep the eye not being used open as well.

    Fujin Vacuum camera cleaner

At first glance. I can't see that it would do anything but drain your account by $119. In order for any vacuum to pick up debris there must be air flow "through" the camera. This looks like it would work more like a vacuum sealer. Just like those food saver bag devices.
