No; That adapter just adds height & weight to the SpiderPlate. They could easily redesign the basic SpiderPlate to incorporate the Arca-Swiss grooves into the basic design without adding the bulkyness of the add-on adapter.

I'm waiting for SpiderPro to redesign the SpiderPlate to directly accomodate the Arca-Swiss interface of my Markins Ballheads. It seems like a very simple redesign....

I’d like to see Spider modify their design a bit to incorporate an ARCA-type mount and hand strap slot (like the RRS L-bracket) in their Spider Plate. That would make an awesome carry system.

I've been using the Nikon AH-4 leather hand grip since the early 90's when I got my N90. When I purchased my D200 in 2006, I also got an RRS L-bracket and attached the AH-4. As a result, I haven't felt the need for a neck strap for the past 20 years.

In your quest, if you decide to get a quick-release (QR) system, don't get sucked into vendor-proprietary QR clamps. Insist on ARCA-compatible clamps and save yourself a lot of grief (expense).

Thanks to my son for the same tip...I picked up some Phottix PT-04 4-Channel Flash Trigger with 3 Receivers for $43 from Honk Kong last Christmas.

I went for a flash bracket (Really Right Stuff WPF-1) to solve the problem. It's a bit pricey but I shopped around for a loong time and recently found a deal on a major auction site for $127 including the Flash Mount (FA-CS2). The bracket is small, lightweight and very well designed/built.

My wife has a Sebring convertible and has no complaints in the winter (Rockford IL). The heater is sized for the vehicle.

The screw probably wasn't torqued properly when the lens was built. Years of use & vibration finally worked it loose.

I use a Sandisk Extreme USB 2.0 Card Reader. It handles my CF cards and SD cards from my wife P&S camera. We may have multiple memory cards from an extended trip, so it's faster & easier to use the reader.

Keep your post count under 300 so you won't be tempted to visit the "For Sale" forum. If you approach 300, change your ID and start over...:biggrin:

+1 Kid's interest wanes quite rapidly. I gave my two older boys cameras when they were 10. The oldest lost interest quickly (it re-emerged when he became a father), but my middle son loved working with B&W images in my darkroom and is still very active today with a D80...

There's an excellent book on organizing your images. Check out "The DAM Book - Digital Asset Management for Photographers" by Peter Krough. The software package I use is iView MediaPro 3 .

It should be in your "Navigation Toolbar" at the top of your screen. Click on it & ensure that "Enable AutoPager" is checked. I loaded AutopPager yesterday & it works great.

Use a monopod where you can to take the weight off your arms...
