i'm a system administrator at a web hosting firm and I get this question all the time. besides telling your host that you want them to control the spam (with server-side software like spamassassin), you could get a third-party application which integrates into outlook (if that's what you use)...

you could always go with a solution like coppermine gallery or gallery ( http://gallery.menalto.com ). but yours is more of a portfolio and the aforementioned sites are more for photo albums in general. you could also get a setup with a script like simpleviewer.

understood. generally the bookmarks i store are not private. i don't put the bookmarks to sites i pay bills on in my del.icio.us. they are usually more informational (like tutorial sites, etc.) :)

another option would be to use http://del.icio.us ... i save my most desirable bookmarks there. this is a public site, so private login sites are not encouraged. but the best part about this is that you could access your bookmarks wherever you are, just by going to http://del.icio.us/yourname :)
