i fully charged 3 batteries, and within 5 min, the d200 said all batteries were dead

Yeah, they probably will. I've read about this while researching the problem. I sent the bare camera without accessories. If they give me a hard time, I'll drive to Melville.... (okay, well, maybe not) But if it doesn't work, I'll start a blog and start a ruckus. It seems to be...

I think that's what it is. I'm sending it to Nikon. Hopefully they'll acknowledge the problem.

    D200/EN-EL3e problem

not in my experience. but it looks like it's called the "dead battery syndrome" - i'm going to send it in under warranty... i don't use the camera often anyway lately :frown: whenever i do, i find something wrong with it.

i fully charged 3 batteries, and within 5 min, the d200 said all batteries were dead

i haven't used my camera in awhile... real life has taken its toll.. but i got back into the game last week with my d200 and a single fully charged battery. i noticed that the low-battery-light indicator would keep going off, so i'd turn off the camera and try again (and hope it would work)...

need a mac CSS expert for help on a website which doesn't render properly on safari

ken, good observation. i basically rewrote code from an old developer's spec... i truthfully know little (nothing?) about css so it's really something i'm learning as i go along. unfortunately for me, this problem existed for a good amount of time before i noticed it (in a job interview, no...

ok, thanks nick. maybe it's just a konqueror issue then... safari is based on konqueror as far as i am aware. :)

need a mac CSS expert for help on a website which doesn't render properly on safari

yeah... i'm not so familiar with this at all. it is hand coding but i was practicing a lot for IE/FF... then i saw it in safari... oops i think i fixed the safari top bar... it's really the left hand nav bar that i need to resolve issues with now. maybe i'll try style master... might be a...

need a mac CSS expert for help on a website which doesn't render properly on safari

sorry to ask such an off-topic question, but i'm pulling my hair out over a problem on my uncle's website. it came to my attention that work i performed on this site in CSS (which i am extremely new at and therefore probably did all wrong) is not showing up properly on safari. the most...

    Spam, Not For Lunch anymore

i'm a system administrator at a web hosting firm and I get this question all the time. besides telling your host that you want them to control the spam (with server-side software like spamassassin), you could get a third-party application which integrates into outlook (if that's what you use)...

    Software Help..

you could always go with a solution like coppermine gallery or gallery ( http://gallery.menalto.com ). but yours is more of a portfolio and the aforementioned sites are more for photo albums in general. you could also get a setup with a script like simpleviewer.

    Firefox question

understood. generally the bookmarks i store are not private. i don't put the bookmarks to sites i pay bills on in my del.icio.us. they are usually more informational (like tutorial sites, etc.) :)

    Favorite tutorial sites/books?

maybe my site will help you. http://www.photocritique.us if you have anything you want covered, i'm all ears:)

    Firefox question

another option would be to use http://del.icio.us ... i save my most desirable bookmarks there. this is a public site, so private login sites are not encouraged. but the best part about this is that you could access your bookmarks wherever you are, just by going to http://del.icio.us/yourname :)

thank you all... if you have anything to comment on or anything to add (or even pictures you want me to showcase -- perhaps with an explanation of the process -- including a url back to your site/portfolio/gallery), i'd be happy to feature it there. it's been getting a nice amount of incoming...

    I want an iPhone....NOW!

the iphone is not "an ordinary cell phone." the point of me tossing that cost factor in is due to the fact that this is how much it will cost you the first year specifically because you are locked down to the cingular plan. it wasn't anything but a little bit of trivia thrown into the mix that...

    I want an iPhone....NOW!

yeah, that is true, sean.. it is very cool stuff. apple went out of the way to give cingular and yahoo (and other contributors to the phone) fake prototypes while developing it and keeping it a real secret from family members and loved ones. i hear that it was incredibly stressful for the...

Can spam filters be too effective?

seconded. it's either that or spammers like to use more common words and they spam every address, real or fake (they don't care about bounce-backs because they have spoofed headers). a way to circumvent this, and it's only if you're able to, is instead of displaying your email address as...

well, to boost the confidence level in terms of switching ISPs - if alternate ISPs are available, i'd say that this is a good option to pursue. my suspicion is that the issue is specific to the way smugmug is configured and with the way the florida comcast servers are set up. it seems very...

i'd be skeptical of isolating this to a traceroute issue. even two traceroutes can be different from the same computer and network connection -- one after the other. they obviously have a common denominator but i'm not sure if the traceroute will help. ultimately, smugmug CAN be accessed (as...
