Frank, Don't feel bad about the "LL". I am saving for a 300 f/2.8VR...about half way there.

For general use I'm using a Lowepro that looks like a laptop bag or a Tamrac Expediton 5 backpack (need something larger). Depends where I'm going. Just checked the darkroom...(yes, I still have one) about another 5 bags under the sink....anyone need a bag for a 4X5 camera or 8X10 film...

I had the dead battery issue with my D200 in the first week. Showed dead in the camera after the 3rd recharge, showed full on the charger. Camera worked fine with the AC power supply, worked fine w/ MB200.... Same story....."battery not covered" ! After talking to a supervisor, Nikon...

I had the battery give up on the thrid recharge. The camera worked fine with the AC adapter and with nimh's in the grip. A replacment battery fixed the problem. Hope it does not happen with the new batteries. I have 3 at the moment.

That is the issue. When fully charged the D200 reads it as dead. Blinking one bar and camera does not function. Think it might work in a D70. I don't have one around to try that.

AFS, I think that the "E" version is a smarter (??? maybe not...lol) version for use in the D200 monitoring system. Might not be in use for the D50, D70 etc. My battery does take a full charge, full charge voltage is correct. Manually discharging it takes quite some time with an external...

Geno, No problems in low light. Snapped into focus like the X or F6. Thought I avoided the battery drain issue, mine seemed to be doing fine. This would have been the third charge and just a "top-off" at that...it was about 82%. Mine is an early one, serial # 30003XX. Funny thing is...

Batt problem? Think I might have a battery failure. Topped it off in the charger Christmas Eve before heading out to do the family visit thing. Charge cycle went normal but when installed in the camera it shows one bar and shuts down. Camera works perfectly when connected to the AC power...

Now just one more lens......yeah right......lol

Think I have one Ordered online about 4:30. Already have a "Shipped" email and tracking number. Must have gotten lucky. :smile:

Frank, Did you check out the "Lens Clens" I mentioned? It seems to get off all the residual gunk left over on a lens or filter. Some of the Super multi-coated filters are difficult to get clean but this stuff seems to get it all.

You can count me too. New here and have posted more than a year of lurking on DPR. Feels kinda like the "Cheers" of the internet.

My D2H was in for a tune-up 2 weeks ago. By the time it was logged in the system it was already on it's way back to me. Nikon received it on Friday and shipped on Monday. Looks like the service can be faster than the paperwork.
