I like what Ed said. even though I am running with a full prime lineup, if I were to get a zoom, it would be a tele... but for now I'm loving the poor mans tele 180mm

I know, I kinda like it that way.. just because it was a very cold day, and when I look at the pics they give a cold feel. I was going to warm it up, but I kinda like it.. these were shot with the 85 1.4. (I the PP was done pretty quick with these... ) But I will try re-editing these and see...

Was down at the Old Montreal, and found some old train tracks by the Old Bay.. was fun, always wanted to get some shots on some tracks!

I like the idea of a 35 f/2 and a 85 1.8 for a cheap but good route. and if you every want more reach get the 70-300. 20 2.8 (wide, sharp.. small) 35/2 (still wide, sharp good for a indoor/outdoor carry around..events) 50 1.8 (your normal focal length lens) 85 1.8 (portrait lens, light tele...

YES, that is true about the high chair slowing him down! it is so hard to even get a shot with the cream machine when he is on the move, I normally have better luck with the Dirty thirty or the 60 afs for Lucas on the move. thanks for the CC.

Thanks Geoff, That day he was pretty good, He actually responses better to P&S better than DSLR. You pull out a P&S and he looks right at the camera and starts smiling... I think it could be all the lights going off before the shot! Please if anyone has some CC that would help me produce...

if you can still get the shots you need for your clients with the all prime kit.... go for it! I personally love primes because I think more behind the shot and I find if I want to get a shot I can see the shot I want and know which lens to grab... well with at least the ones I use a lot (dirty...

I just got this lens not too long ago, and all these shots are making very sure of the choice that I made. I haven't had the chance to take it out too much lately but this weekend I will have to take my new "baby" out and giver a real test. And Frank I like the Boat shot the most... really...

I like the gf1, but that is a 1000.00 set up. rumor is nikon coming out with a mirrorless hybrid slr camera, that would be sweet! mostly if they come out with a nice aps-c sensor, and a 1.8 pancake lens!

I love the 60 afs, and it is a great 1 lens kit. ON Dx it is good for shooting bugs as well, you do have to get close, but you can get the shot! and it is great for part of a travel kit, because I think it is a very nice outdoor portrait lens...

I wonder what it will do to the price of the 28mm 1.4 if they come out with these lens?

yes both would be awesome, not sure what price they would be (around 1500 to 2000) I am guessing.. but it would rock, and be one of those lens you would want if your in FX world...

or now the option is to wait for the d700s, iso 12800!

well I am saving my pennies right now as I decided to get the lens first, and my kit I was aiming for is done (20 2.8, 30 1.4(swap for a 35 f/2 when go to FF), 50 1.8 (might upgrade to 1.4 later after FF upgrade), 60 af-s, 85 1.4, 180 2.8. the only thing that would rock is a low light wide...

Yes this is what I'm talking about .. for FF, I just think that IF nikon made one... they wouldn't be able to keep it on the shelf! It would work for both of us.. the get a lens that sells quick, we get the lens:biggrin:

I would love for Nikon to release a FF lens that is a 40mm 1.4! I would buy that over a 50mm 1.4 anyday... right now for DX I love the 30 1.4 because it is wider than than the 35mm and I do like how wide it is. would anyone else like that?

I use mine a lot. A I think I can make more "stable" shots locking it to my body or against my body/shoulder which in a way turns my body into a tripod for the camera. Plus it is great for when I am traveling and don't want to have to deal with charging batteries. I have loaded the chamber...
