I never knew we had them in Maryland!

Years ago, a friend of mine described a beaver she saw in downtown Little Rock on the Arkansas River. She started bringing it food, because it was a beaver and the poor thing's tail was all messed up. When she told me about this, I had to explain it was a nutria. She didn't believe me, until...

OT: As you become a better photographer....you have less "keepers"?

After I shoot a set of pictures, I sit down and critique each shot and like most that have commented on this thread, seldom do I find one that satisfy my standards. Conversely, many of my keepers are failed shots that I keep as object lessons to remind me of my failures and set a baseline on...

    Auto Focus Macro Extension Tubes

Don't recall the brandname. Just bought the cheapest I could find on Ebay. Poorly built, I tried mounting to my D300 and D80, neither would accept the bayonet flange on the extension tube. I wound up trashing the extension tubes.

OT: How many of you remember playing...

Besides the usual suspects, BB guns, fireworks, 22 cal. rifles, shotguns, there were lighter fluid cannons, water balloon slings, black powder bombs, and the little known chlorine/Pine Sol in a twistcap 64 ounce glass Coke bottle.

    Auto Focus issue

Put my 28-70 f2.8 Nikkor on my buddy's D7000 and it failed to autofocus. Put it back on my D300 and it auto focused fine. Tried 3 time to get it to auto focus on the D7000 with no success. Any suggestions?

    Help with lens setup appreciated

Depends, If you are going to Havana, then you'll need a a good wide angle for the Malecon and the Old Fortress. If you go to Hemingway's bodega. or El Floridita, you'll want some fast glass. I would suggest you consider renting, Nikkor 14-24mm f2.8, and Nikkor 24-70mm f2.8. In Old Havana...

    Fred Miranda Thoughts

Yeah, I kinda had a delayed reaction from a fred miranda transaction recently. I purchased a Nikkor 28-70mm f2.8 on fred miranda back in August 2008. Was given assurance from initial sale post that it was a US lens. I even went as far as to pm him and got reassured it was a US lens. That I...

    Extreme discount on Adobe products

Not necessarily, depending on your particular State's "bait and switch" law, you might be successful arguing that Adobe enticed you with this offer and then reneged offering a different discount code costing you more money in this contract. Couldn't hurt to suggest they'd be better off giving...
