Taken in Edgewater BC. Tried out the "miniature effect" of my D7100 and I thought it did not turn out too bad.

Here is a less processed shot.
  24. P

    Female Moose enjoying a refreshment

Yes I noticed maybe a tad over processed. Could not really do much about the sharpness. Moose was a fair distance away. Not having my tripod did not help. Thanks for the feedback

    Female Moose enjoying a refreshment

Taken this week in Kananaskis Country. 300F4 plus 1.4 tc. No tripod or monopod, had to do with a road sign for support! Paul

    Pileated Woodpecker

Thanks for the explanations. I really appreciate any constructive feedback, after all thats how we learn. I admit that eventhough I use Photoshop I tend to apply any editing to the whole shot. I guess I will have to learn how to use Photoshop better than how I use it currently . Thanks again...

    Hawk in tree

Thanks guys, Randy I did check my monitor and glasses.:) I am very paranoid as my 300F4 was soo sharp. You also commented about the squirrel pic. Everybody seems to respect your opinion and I agree the 300 plus Tc really never did much for me. Paul

    Squirrel in tree

Thanks Randy. You have the new 80-400, correct. Does this shot seem sharp to you. Did not do much by way of editing, except some contrast , clarity etc etc. I really need some feedback as I am not quite sure about this lens yet. Paul

    Hawk in tree

Taken with my new 80-400. Not sure about this lens. I sold my 300F4 for this and the new 80-400 seems soft at 400 compared to the 300F4 at 300mm. Am I being fair to compare 400 vs 300, even though this lens is expensive?? Paul _D715906 by paulvanharte, on Flickr

Hi Terri, just checked used f4.5, 1/250 sec ISO 400 35mm. Maybe a different F would have given greater depth of field?? Paul
