I find it very hard to shoot a bad image with this lens. I also find it hard to pull any other lens out of my bad during a portrait session. Even if it means standing 50 yards away to shoot a family of four.

This one right here is TOY mode @ f2, 1/56, ISO800 As you can see, the detail is not much different at ISO3200 (above) in the shots that avoid motion blur.

If you're looking to put a TC to that lens for added distance, why not look for a used 70-300? You can get those $375-$400.

I was just going to mention (like Aleksey did) stopping down the VRI to f4 and then comparing corner sharpness to the f4. If they're comparable, you have everything of the f4 and a little more in the VRI.

You're right...I am mentally used to a faster prime, but I'll get over it. Right now my p&s is a Canon S100. Huge step up to the Fuji.
