Intermittent GPS coordinate corruption for MacOS

I have been using the Nikon GP-1 GPS adapter with my D300. When using Capture NX on MacOS to save the NEF's as JPG's, every once in a while the GPS coordinates stored in the JPG's differ from the original NEF's. I think this bug is caused by a rounding error. Sometimes its either latitude or...

Nikon 300 2.8 ... VR useful for shooting indoor sports?

I have found it difficult to use VR when shooting sports. The extra time it takes for the VR to "engage" delays the shutter too much and I miss the shot I wanted.

    I'm done shooting girls basketball

The Athletics Director at my daughter's high school can't see me often enough, I must be lucky. There is one ref who sometimes does our games that won't let me behind the baseline, but most do. Just got an 85mm f/1.4 today and can't wait to give it a try!

Mac Bootcamp vs Parallels vs Virtual PC

Parallels is not supported on Mac Pro Parallels doesn't currently run on the Mac Pro. Starting the virtual machine results in the Mac crashing ("panic"). There is a hack involving minor tweaks to the MacOS (followed by a reboot) that some have found resolves this problem. It worked for me. I...

Mac Bootcamp vs Parallels vs Virtual PC

Bootcamp turns your Mac into a PC. It does this by creating a disk partition for the Windows installation and then providing Windows with some drivers for the Mac hardware. There is no emulation, it is quite fast. Though, I hear that those drivers don't get you the same disk I/O performance that...

Just picked up 70-200 - PROBLEMS!!!

same problem here I have had a lot of auto-focus trouble with my 70-200VR. I think I actually had a couple of problems, one with my body and the other with my lens. At the worst of times, the camera would not auto-focus with any of my lenses. After sending the body in a couple of times, the...

    D 70 autofocus problem

Autofocus still broken I got my D70 back from Nikon Service and it didn't take long for my autofocus to stop working again. By this I mean that there is no attempt at all to focus, it doesn't even try. Manual focus works fine, but it is tough to shoot a soccer player running towards me while...
