No guilt here. But I told her I'll sell my 70-200 2.8 vr2 when KEH comes back down here... never used the lens anyway. But expert advice helped, and that's when quoting Randy closed the deal... It's all working well toward the $10,000 spendings necessary to get 100,000 American Airlines miles.

Just received my backordered 80-400 from Adorama... I'm happy with the $400.00 instant rebate, 4% Adorama reward and the 4626 American Airlines miles. Net in my book : $2,111.59. Oh, when my wife asked, I blamed Randy!

My wife just said: It's me! Talking about buying the 80-400, I was reading her the remarks on this tread and she said: enough already... just buy it.

A few weeks ago, when KEH came down here, I was going to get around $1400 for my US VRII. Like new, used only twice, with the box, hood, caps and RSS foot. I was hoping for $1500-$1600, but I was told that they had over 70 in stock! Maybe next time.

Are you getting a X-E2 too? I already have a F-mount Samyang 8mm... wondering if I could use it on the X-E2 with an adaptor. Or else I'll sell mine next time KEH comes to town, and get the X -mount.

My E-X2 order with Amazon is "Preparing for Shipment"... looks like I'll get it before Thanksgiving. Now keeping an eye on the 27mm pancake for a price reduction. I can wait, but would like to get one before Easter, for my next trip.

Just upgraded my mini today... after doing a dry run on another disk. Never installed a .0 release before, never installed over the previous OS before, was just looking for a little excitement. Everything seems to work, including Barracuda Network Connector, Meerkat and ARD for remote access...

William, Colin: thanks for your kind words. I made up my mind about the lens: Paroled Anyway the quoted price for a BGN condition on KEH.com is about $50. BTW the lens is damaged... dropped on the ground changing lenses in Petra! Result: chip on the inside glass surface, I was almost crying.

My old AI 50mm f1.4 was before a Parole Board hearing today... on its way to KEH. I don't know, maybe I keep it. I barely use it, but here one of the pictures I took with it, this century. What do you think? D300, ISO 2000, f4

For more than fifty years now, I've used filters... the best I could get. Following diglloyd's advice, I recently switched from Hoya to B+W, but I think that Hoya came with a new one... maybe next time.

Thanks Jeff... you got me thinking about keeping my D-7000 as a back-up for my D-7100. I just finished packing it today, ready to ship tomorrow. Now I have to explain to my wife why I want to keep it.

Thanks Carole. I got it, if I buy a plate for my D-7100, it's going to be universal. I use my plates so seldom, I don't need the lips... body contact is enough. How does your plate fits on your D-300. I am going to buy something size-wise like D-800 size or D-400, when and if they come out...

Let us know how it works. I just balked at spending the money on another plate for the D-7100.
