Wow - it's been forever since I've posted here on the forums - but I still check in almost every day. Anyway.... So it would seem I will be traveling solo to Seoul, S. Korea for our second adoption to pick up our son. My wife will be staying home with our 2.5 year old son while I go to Seoul...

Oh well still no luck with jpg - or different angles or apertures. I may try manual focus to remove the lines but that kind of defeats the purpose of taking a pic of a plasma to show how nice the picture is. I think it's just a freak incompatibility of my D50 and my Pioneer 940 plasma.

I wonder if taking these pics in RAW vs. jpg makes a difference. I'll have to test it out tonight in jpg.

The F40 takes both XD and SD cards - which is why I opted for it. Costco has it on sale now for $249 if you are near one.

Here are a couple shots my wife snapped with the new F40d this morning. They certainly aren't up to G7 standards (or DSLR standards obviously - but for a tiny little p & s they aren't too bad). Full auto mode - nothing special - no pp. I'm still a bit unsure of why the flash fails to fire in...

I'm looking for some recommendations for a decent P & S to carry around when my D50 w/18-200 VR is too cumbersome. So far I've narrowed it down to a Fuji F30, F31d or F40d - or the Sony DSC-N2. My concern with the F30 or F31d is the slow XD card write speed - but would that really affect me...

Take a Cavern Diving course - and if you like it continue into the Cave Diving courses too if they're available in your area (Wreck Diving would also work I suppose) - great way to learn proper bouyancy control and become a better all around diver.

I used dental floss to remove mine - it did slop up my lcd cover on my d50 but I managed to remove all the tape residue that method left behind with masking tape.

From the THK Photo Website about the Kenko tubes... So as far as #4 goes - I'd have to manual focus (was planning on that anyway so nbd)... But what does #3 mean? Nikon "D" information is not transmitted???

Hi Terri, I ordered my cleaning supplies (less the Rocket Blower - I have the same one and it's nice) from www.copperhillimages.com - very quick service and nice quality kit - along with nice detailed sensor cleaning instructions.

I have a Feisol CF 1401 monopod - with a basic tilt/swivel Bogen 3232 deal with Bogen QR plate (probably not big enough for your needs) - but the Feisol itself is really nice - supports up to 17 lbs. iirc and I got it in like 5 days from China. Amazingly fast service.

I sold my 60mm Micro to help fund my purchase of my 18-200VR and I miss the darn thing terribly. Unless I fall into some serious money and can afford a 105VR next - I'll be buying another 60mm Micro as my next lens.

Thanks guys - I was about to take off my lens to give the mirror a blast from my rocket blower and took a quick look through the viewfinder - the dust water buffalo is gone! I'm sure he'll return but until then I'm going to leave well enough alone.

Hi Geoff, Have you tried doing a format of the card with it in your computer's card reader (you know - using windows explorer - find the "drive" that's the SD card and rightclicking and choosing "format") - as opposed to formatting it in the camera? (format as FAT) I have a Kingston 256mb CF...
