I know what you mean, Randy. Fortunately, I never sold mine. I really enjoyed shooting my D300 (which I order right after they were announced) yesterday. Most of my football games are at night, but when we get a day game I love to shoot this body.

I'm using this info: http://www.photosynthesis.co.nz/nikon/serialno.html In my case, I knew that the 300VR was manufactured between 2004-2009, but the info on that site further subdivided the model into 2004-2005 and 2006-2009.

Bob, it is the Rain M stand. I looked at several and like it the best. It is non-adjustable so you are stuck with the height and angle of the keyboard. I don't type on it so that isn't a issue for me. http://www.raindesigninc.com/mstand.html

Wow....really nice! Colors in #8 are great. We have a place we play every other year that has nice fall colors, but we played there at night last week:frown:. I love fall colors in football pictures.

I have had a aluminum MBP since they were released almost three years ago. It has been the best laptop I have owned or used, by far. I was a little concerned about heat as well but I have never had any issues. On the rare occasion that I am ripping a DVD (that I own, of course) it gets hot...

There is nothing wrong with the first autofocus 300 2.8. No VR...it is screw driven, but it is plenty fast enough. If you find a good copy IQ will be excellent. IQ with a Tamron/Kenko 1.4 is very good, but acquiring focus is much slower. This will be my forth football season shooting with...
