105mm 2.8 VR

Discussion in 'Lens Lust' started by pauldemo, May 25, 2007.

  1. Just got back from a small holliday and found that the 105mm 2.8VR was delivered. Sadly enough it is dark now so I need to wait untill tomorrow to try it. But I really cannot wait. It feels heavy but great:biggrin:

    Quite nice Rich!

Doesn't this lens have great bokeh?

  11. Yes, very nice. The VR really helps. You can save a lot time not having to set up a tripod all the time.

  12. Excellent choice. It's my most used lens. Here is a recent example:

manual focus, VR off on tripod, iso 100, f3.0, D200.

The pictures have a very nice 3D quality. Loved the pic of oranges!

I always go to this lens because of the quality of the pictures. Also because of its VR and I can handhold it without lugging the tripod or monopod around.

There are a few of my 105 2.8 VR Macro lens pictures HERE

  15. pauldemo,

Yes, indeed, congrats for the new lens!

I was just amazed last weekend at how good this lens is when bumblebees were busy in my backyard ...

  16. I just got one and have not played with that much but I do like it. As an owner of both 105s I really like the VR version. Focus is quick and of course VR. I am a lazy macro shooter (I tend to not get the tripod out) and VR improves my keeper ratio. I will eventually post some shots with my 105VR, for now, I will just look at others 105VR shots.

Gaye, great pictures! Off topic, how and what program are you using to add those nice picture borders around your images in zenfolio? That isn't a feature of Zenfolio is it?

Peter, I sent you a PM.
    Zenfolio doesn't do those.
