14-24 goes to market in Shanghai

Discussion in 'Lens Lust' started by StL_Don, Sep 11, 2008.

  1. On our recent visit to Shanghai we went to a neighborhood market on a Saturday morning.
It was teeming with both shoppers and vendors and the shooting possibilities were endless.
Unfortunately my time there wasn't and I was limited to a fairly quick trip through the isles while my wife
patiently waited outdoors (I think the sights and smells were getting to her ).

The lighting was all over the place so don't be looking for perfect WB.
All shots handheld with the D3 at high ISO.

Below are a sampling of the series, the rest are at

The beans shot is very nice. The lack of rectilinearity in some of the people shots looks very strange though.

  4. Thanks Nute

Thanks, I like the beans too.
That's the effect of ultra-wide... not a traditional people lens, more for effect.

    love #8 the most

    these are wonderful

  6. These are great! If I ever decide wide angle is something I like to shoot....well, I'm going to have to start saving pennies again. The images I've seen from this lens make me happy, LOL! But I really don't need it.....I don't, really.

8 is my fav as well....lovely shot!

  7. Great series! Thanks for sharing.

    Fine work Don.
