Thinking about going back to primes only and replacing the 12-24mm Nikon with a 14mm. Anyone with first hand experience with both ot either one of these babies? Samples will be even better.

    Thanks.

I've never used the 14mm Nikkor but I can tell you that the 15mm Sigma is quite good.

  4. Hi Henry
I wouldn't do it. The 14mm is not great on the digital bodies, IMO. I have one sitting here that I haven't used in a year, perhaps it's time for it to go. But I always use my 12-24 and find it one of my most versatile lenses.

    Thanks Mike

Hello Mike. I would say the 15mm looks great. I had a 16mm AIs Nikon fisheye but found it was not good on my D2H and hence sold it. When I used that lens many years ago on film, it was fine.

    Thanks for the link.

    Hello Peter, how are you?

I have a Nikon 12-24mm too but the itch kept bothering me because I love primes and thought I should get rid of the 12-24mm and get a real lens. LOL

Guess I was lucky to have a "family" here watching after my back.

Thanks for the warning Peter and will thread most carefully from here on.
