People are being notified of their D-200s arrival; has anyone received news of an impending receipt of an 18-200?

  2. That is what I am waiting for too.

I'm waiting too for more news on this lens. I'm curious to see how it performs on the D2X.

  5. Ordered mine...no word yet

I ordered mine last month from my local Calumet dealer. Rumors indicated the lens would be delivered several days after the D200, so hope to hear something next week.

I have the 28-200 G lens, and it is very handy for travel...but tonal/bokeh is no match for some of the better lenses. I'm very anxious to see how the 18-200 stacks up on the D2X also.

    Regards,

    Paul

Yes, I pre-ordered mine also but haven't heard anything yet.

  7. I got this from B&H this morning.

    Dear Customer

You've previously requested to be notified when the following item comes
    in to stock:
    Nikon - NI1820035ED (USA) - 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6G ED-IF AF-S DX VR II Autofocus Lens

This item did not come in to stock yet,
However, we are now accepting pre-orders and the item will be shipped when
it comes in to stock. If you still wish to be notified when it actually
comes in to stock, please re-submit your request to be notified.

  8. I ordered from Roberts on 12-19, so its probably going to be a long wait.

I'll be interested in user experiences as they are received.

  9. I used a production sample briefly on the D2HS. Was very impressed; VRII really works. Contrast and sharpness excellent even wide open. I also believe it's all metal; really well put together.

Needless to say, I'm waiting for mine too :p

I would like to attach my first photo using the 18-200VR lens, but posting rules say I may not post attachments. Is there any way to change that status so I can post this first shot?

Do I understand this right: In order to post an attachment you must first put it on a website to get a URL? You cannot copy / paste the photo to the Cafe'?

Yeap, that is how you do it.
I have my own website that I use to post my shots on, other use different providers to host there pictures.

  14. Just need someplace on the web to host it and then link to it here on NCafe.

Most photo sites have a free level of membership so

Check out: FlickR (What i use), PBase, SmugMug

If u cannot figure it out - pm and you can email the pic to me and I will host it on my FlickR account and post the pic for u.

    Hey Gadg,

Go to your website (there's a picture of a red car and some ... uh, mechanics?) and get the url of the picture (control click [mac] or right click [win] on the picture, and select 'view picture' from the pop-up menu. Then 'copy' the url from the browser address field) and paste the url in between the [IMG] tags. Be sure there aren't any spaces between the tags and the address.

Poof! Then you'll have a picture in your post.

I have mine. Played a bit with it yesterday. Fast little puppy it is.
When not extended it is small :>))
Heavier than I thought it would be. but nice to handle. Will be a tough decision whether to use that one or the 24-120 VR for running around all day. Hummmmmm 24-120 is really good tooooo.
But knowing me and the love for reachhhhhhhhhhhh lololol
