1st AB shot

My AB 800 was delivered by the fella driving that big brown truck today.
Nobody around to try it out on except me. :frown:

Take a peek and give me some feedback. Portraits really aren't my thing but am always looking to get better . . . 1st thing I noticed is I need a better model. .

Wow! I think that looks great-especially for a first try. No one will ever model for me either, but I'm not brave enough to try it on myself :)

What was your setup? One light and a reflector?

Thanks Tracey - Set up was an Alien Bee 800 as main on camera left.
I don't have a reflector so I used my SB-800 on camera right as fill.
Shot with my D50 and Nikon 35-70 2.8 and fired by me with a remote.

Looks super duper!

Rod, nice first shot. Did you just have the SB800 on Su-4 mode?

Sadly, we both need better subjects to practice on!:biggrin:

Yes, better models needed indeed. Look at it this way - we are saving on the hair lights. :biggrin:
