    Any suggestion of how to give this lens a good field test?

    Given all my liking of zooms, I want to be WOWed.

    Ideas?

    PS. Thanks Again Nikoncafe! :eek::eek:

    Hi Frederic! That's the lens that lives attached to my digital camera. I love the normal perspective it provides. When I go out at night, the 35 has been the only lens I use. It does people very well as long as you don't crowd them. But what's really nice is that it lets you get close enough to crowd them!

    Good choice on the new lens. You'll love the contrast and close focusing capabilities of the 35/2. I own the AIS version and I find that I use it a lot as a walkround all purpose lens for lanscapes and close-up portraits. I've been thinking of buying the AF version, but I hate the thought of giving up using the AIS version. I own a few AIS lenses and they have produced a lot of great images over the years. I doubt that I'll ever fully convert to AF.

    Anyway...enjoy your new lens.

  6. This has been the next lens for me to get for a bit now, I was nearly swayed by good deals on 300mm lenses. There are numerous reviews, not just here, that sing the praises of the 35mm f/2 on any dSLR body and how sharp it can be. So go out and shoot, post your shots, but be gentle to those who have not got it yet...don't be too tempting!

  8. I was going to guess bike, but then I couldn't find a "belgium made" bike using google, so I think that's wrong...

    Oh well :smile: I'm going with "bike"

    Congrats on the new lens.. I keep reading some very good reviews of this lens..how does it compare optically to the 50mm 1.8?..I may consider getting this little gem..the close focus really appeals.

    You looked too much like a regular guy in the other one - you know, wife, beer ...

    Now you're back to being the Prime Lord, and all is well in Lens Lust Land.
