I have taken this one this morning handheld.
Yves, that is amazing considering the lighting. I'm getting better at properly judging the exposures, but I could never hand hold something like this.
Great job. 8)
Stunning image Yves,
thanks for sharig
It is easier to do than to say I guess plus I had VR on ...
Noticed I had a VR lens Gale ... ??? lol
thx for looking.
Hi Yves, really like the composition and how you pulled that out! very nicely done.............have to try that spot metering!! LOL
Sometimes, it is the only way to go ...
So, with this Spot metering, did you spot on the bright parts of the bird? It's really exposed perfectly. Love the overall composition too.
Re: Nicely done
Yes Steven, I did point at the brightest part, memorised the exposure, set manual exposure, recomposed and overexposed + 0.3 EV the scene.
I like this one. How is the 300 VR for toting around? Is it much lighter than the older 300/2.8 lenses?
Niiice, very sharp for a big heavy lens handheld, very nice lighting also for being in the shade. You lads with the big 300 2.8's make me jealous....
