2007 Tour de France Prologue

Discussion in 'Sports Photography' started by Radiohead, Jul 8, 2007.

  1. Went up for an excellent day yesterday and managed to blag our way right into the press area where we sat for the whole day. It's amazing how far you can get if you push it. We ended up in an almost empty area 100m from the finish and had a great position for the end of each ride.

So, some flavour shot and some race shots:

For those who care I used a 30D with a Tamron 17-50mm and an EF100mm f2. The light was really mixed and sadly most of the riders who started towards the end had their faces in shadow as we lost the sun.

The crowd was over 1 million.
  4. Very nice captures. I watched it live on TV and wished I was there.
  5. excellent series that really give the flavor of the event

Nice coverage of the Tour and tough to deal with shadows and bright sunlight. Definately a test of your panning technique.
  7. Thanks for the comments Gents - it's on the way back to France now.
  8. Good to see you back online Guy. Nice series of shots here my friend.
  9. Thanks Pete - hope all is ok with you buddy.

  11. Outstanding shots, thanks for sharing! I'll look forward to more of your pics. I got a ride in yesterday AM, and as I'm riding, I'm thinking the guys in the the TDF are going 2x my speed!
