2008 National (Canadian Dog) Agility Championships

Discussion in 'Sports Photography' started by LionRed, Aug 7, 2008.

  1. Lucky enough.... that this is happening where I live, Sussex NB.

I don't know a whole lot about it...but I thought it best to get out and capture these beautiful dogs in action.

I think today was just a warm up day...the main event is over Fri and Sat.

This is a very nice series, Jamie. Real nice action and composed well within the frame. I appreciate the intensity and the well saturated colorations.

The "weave poles" are hard to catch and really make interesting looking. You did a very good job with that! With the right angle and shutter speed, the jumps are always fun shots! Looks like you nailed 'em!
  5. Thank you all for the comments!

I took a few more today. No weave poles today...didn't have as much freedom to move around the event today. Seems they are actually paying some one to shot the event....so I will be stuck outside the main fencing =(
I think tomorrow ....I may bring a sturdy step ladder and sit on top of it to have a better view of the field.

Here are a few from today. I am trying to keep the amount of pictures I take...to a fewer number (not totally spraying and preying).

After watching these guys go at it...I am thinking of enrolling our dog. Certainly looks like a good workout for the humans to. During the practice/warm ups ....many a trainers said "ok I am done"....while the dog had plenty in reserve to continue.
