Even at F11 that is quite a narrow DOF. I'm amazed at how much you have to stop down to get a good DOF when using macro's. thank goodness for CLS!

try all the way 1:1 and smallest to largest aperture... you will need some USM to bring back some of the sharpness below f/11... or a postage stamp at an angle showing the DOF at 1:1

the hibiscus stamen here is about 4+ inches... so to get some focus on the petals and the stamen tip... was wayyy difficult. best i could do below

Very nice Bob. I had a momentary lapse and nearly sold this lens! I typically use the 105VR and 70-180 micro. I think I will test it tomorrow in my garden. Thanks for starting this thread Don!
