Hello friends,

this year I'll try a 52 weeks run.
I'll set the focus on way and field crosses in our surrounding.
As side effect I'll shoot a few other things in my town.

A very unusual color for a cross.

I like how you composed this symetrical wood-framework of the barn.

Welcome to 52 week 2014, Klaus. It is a test of endurance as well as photographic skill. Less than 50% complete the race every year. I hope to see you at the finish line.

Would you mind translating the inscription under the cross?

Very nice image Klaus. I like it a lot. It is much different that what I have seen in the US. I looked up the location on Google Earth and it looks like a great small town.

Great start Klaus - Nice to see where you live
Had to look up INRI = Jesus of Nazareth King of the Jews

OK, I'll try a translation of the plate below...

"Oh, all you pass by this way,
pay attention and look if there's a pain like my pains."

I think it means: Look for someone who is in distress and needs help.

Regards
Klaus

It's at the eastern end of Obereisenbach.

The text says: "Praise Jesus Christ in eternity!"

Lens used: 24-70mm 2.8G
Conditions: Blue sky, 20% white clouds

Very nice Klaus. Do you have an estimate on how long the crosses have been installed? You have an interesting project started.

Fine image, wonder how old this is? The cross really is the focus of this image for me with its look of antiquity.

I wonder if there is a group maintaining such items. The foundation is in bad shape, and the cross seems to be tilting to the left. I'm glad you recorded it before it fell over.

Nice shot Klaus. Some interesting questions about the crosses. I'm looking forward to more of the project and maybe some of the answers too.
