Thanks, Nick. I think I snapped about 1500 frames too many yesterday at a cross country meet, none with my Octoberfest lens. I could probably go for a nice glass of wine and some good classical music too.Day 20:
You sound like I feel, as you'll see in a few when I post. I like this--flames? Contemplative for sure! Some of that wine would be most appropriate.
Very kind, Harry. I’m pretty happy with the result, all things considered. If you’re curious, the underwhelming original image is here.Underwhelming to you, Andy. Not to me. I think this is a superbly intriguing abstract. I've been sitting here free associating, and having fun. Have no idea what it is, but I like it very much.
Right you are, David. Smoke from a snuffed out candle.Without going to the Bucket, I would guess smoke? Well done, Andy - very subtle and sharp enough to be very interesting.
I agree with Harry. It's an interesting shot with depth as well.20. Swirl

Not terribly inspired today, so I just tried to salvage the least underwhelming of today's frames.
Definitely a lot of patching on that arch. The old bricks have a lot of character.21. Old Arch

I hate to sacrifice the warmth of the morning light (which was fleeting due to cloud cover), but perhaps you're still right. I'll give it a try.22. Have you thought about a BW conversion...?
Do you mean crop in from the left?22. ...love the movement aspect of the water, maybe a touch off the left side image?
Yes, message sent,I hate to sacrifice the warmth of the morning light (which was fleeting this morning due to cloud cover), but perhaps you're still right. I'll give it a try.

Thanks for that comment, Nick. I was indeed trying to make the waterfalls look larger. They are, in fact just the ebb of the waves as they crashed up on the embankment. It was a very soggy but enjoyable shooting experience trying to catch the right moment.22: I love the absence of anything that would give a sense of scale, and the rich light.
Subjectively the archway and in particular its foreground detail are very nice, Andy. Somehow, though, I keep wanting to see the tree in the background in the rightmost 1/3 of the archway.21. Old Arch
