I like the composition in the first one. Good use of foreground. Some might suggest cropping a bit off the top.

Thanks Bart! This time of year b&w is usually the way to go. Light is brutal with long shadows and nature is still dead without colours/leaves. I’m quite happy myself also with this quick snap. Turned out to be a keeper. (Nature of the challenge is to push oneself to produce one decent picture per day. Some days it’s really harder than others)

You are pretty far North but last week, we had slight night frost over here as well.

Is that the Ai-S 35 f/2 you're using or another?
In any case, I do like the image quality.

Actually it is AF 35mm f/2D. I believe it is optically pretty close to Ai-S version, if not the same lens.

Great perspective.

Your rules for social distancing seem stricter than ours (1,5m)
I had to go to the office this afternoon to pick up some material.
The highway was as good as deserted. Normally a very busy road, even or especially in the weekend.
An unreal experience.

I'm always amazed someone can produce a worthwhile image every day.
The quarantine rules must make it even more difficult.

I have this lens, Nikkor-S 50 f/1.4 (Nippon Kogaku) as well but I use it on a mirrorless.
Still need to take it out on a prolonged walk to get to know the ins and outs but what I got so far is really pleasing.
As is what you show us here, Matero!

December 1917 Finland got independency and already on January 1918 began civil war between Reds and Whites, working men against upper class. These bullet holes and grenade marks on the bridge, called The Long Bridge, between then Reds' and Whites' areas are stil after 100 years visible to remind us about the madness then evolved. The bridge itself is not physically very long, but at that time it made all the difference mentally and socially. These days the holes touches somewhere very deep in ones soul and make your eyes moist [bl...y wind]
