The CA make fun photos
I agree.
If I really tried and had much better skills this plastic lens could produce stunning photos in most circumstances.
I suppose the D700 is simply a very well designed camera.
It might fail at astrophotography, but if I lived in the countryside I would still give it a go.

Lenses have come a long way, haven't they. It's fun seeing these.
Right.
And the software in the latest cameras corrects so many design limitations.
Look at what the latest iPhone can do with dedicated processors.
There is a part of me that wants to believe that film lenses (in the pro category) had to be excellent by design, on their own.

It's very interesting to see how this lens performs so when there is a lot of dynamic range in the frame compared to less challenging scenes.
I agree, I am beginning to get a feel for what I can do with it.
It will not win major prizes but it will get a picture in most cases.
And since it is fully manual with plastic, it is quite easy to understand what is going on.

And shelves in small grocery stores, convenience stores are a favourite of mine, one of my prefered photo is one taken on a train platform in Japan. The shop was beautiful.
I have archived it and need to look for it.
It was taken on film I believe (but I may be wrong), ages ago.
