Terrible weather kept us inside for most of the day...

Playing with marbles

Only in the evening I could walk around the house without getting wet from above.

Beautiful day here today, so we journeyed down to the New River Trail at Lone Ash (about 50 miles away). We walked upriver farther than we had before, so it was a bit of an exploration.

Shot early this morning from the front of the apartments. Place looks the same most of the year other than cloud cover and occasional rain or snow.

Small version of a pano stitch attempt, showing what parts of the mountains can be seen from the spot.

Went up on the Colorado National Monument this afternoon to see what was happening up there. Many of the desert high country plants were on their way, including: 1) Narrow leaf yucca; 2) Ephedra (aka "Mormon Tea"); and, 3) Indian Paintbrush. I'd have looked for more, but a storm was moving in from the west (4); in the 25 minutes before I got back home, there was a wind gust of 59 mph!

Someone gave me a bonsai last year and it hasn't changed much for many months. Then comes spring and new leaves start to appear.

Was hoping for a sunny day, but we've had threating weather since noon, and now we are under a thunderstorm watch. Yup, it is spring on the Palouse!

Joining in a day late. Here's one of the last buds to open into a leaf on our maple tree:

My EXIF editor is still not working correctly. This was the Helios 44-2 58mm f/2 stopped down to f/16

Very nice set Eric, and some interesting plants. Something we don't see on the East coast.
