October 1. Raining today. Air is filled with that wonderful damp forest smell. Fall fungus popping up everywhere including this Shaggy Mane and its little buddy.

Thanks! Shaggies are edible. Not quite as tasty as morels but good nonetheless.

Thanks. Taken at 2.0. Generally the widest smallest I go with the 55 is 2.8. I will have some shots this month at 1.2 for sure.

Nice. We had a very large fungus against the bottom of a dry stone wall here a few weeks ago. It would have been a meal in itself if edible but I don't know my fungi so left it alone.

Technically yes, but as with all fungi, positive identification is needed to avoid "issues".

The flip up LCD screen really makes a difference over OVF. I think you will like the 105S. Best macro I have ever used. Shots coming soon.
