Day 9

Although our neighbors helped a lot ... the mountain has been moved!! Back to the back yard where it will eventually end up in my wife's gardens!!

Day 10

Busy couple of days ... but nothing's more interesting in the front yard right now than the flowers which are changing over to their fall colors.

With all of that stuff moved ... we can just go back to the "normal" renovations!!

Cheers!!

Ken

Day 8

Actually, this 50mm lens is not quite right for this situation ... but here is our 95% completed master bathroom update. About the only thing missing is some trim. Our home was built in the mid-60's and the master bath is quite small. The original shower was less than 36"x 36" square!! Without spending hundreds of thousands of $$ to build on an addition, we don't have room for one of the big spa baths we see on TV. But, we planned out a rehab that expands things quite a bit and definitely updates the look and feel. My wife loves her new vanity/medicine cabinet update!!

(Also, sorry, I have not been able to comment much on other folks' wonderful images. Hopefully I'll start getting caught up over the weekend!!)

Ken
Pleeeeease come and help me do mine!!! Your bathroom is awesome and I can relate to having an older home. Mine was built in 1956 and my bathroom is the size of a modern day powder room. You've done a fantastic job on the reno -well done, Ken!!

Great photos - I'm glad you had help getting all those wood chips moved. I know that was a chore.

And awww...the flowers are fading away. Good thing though, is that there is always next year!

The red, orange and brown colors add a lot of interest to the first, Ken. And, like Ron, I'd guess a Butterfly Bush in your 2nd?

Day 9 & 10 - glad you had the help to get the pile moved, nice photo of the yard and front of the house, like the red. Even though the flowers are past prime and fading, the colors are still pleasing.

Well done Ken. All neat and tidy. Is that a pink buddleia?
I have no idea ... but iOS 15 now has a plant ID function and IT says it's a "Peegee" or "Panicled" Hydrangea. I'll take their word for it ...
Glad you got the pile moved. The flower looks nice. A hydrangea? They always have such great fall color conversions.
It's really nice ... but it's just relocated to a "temporary" spot in the back yard awaiting my wife's application to her gardens!!

See above ... but I am by no means an expert!!

It's actually amazing to watch these guys at work.

Cheers!!

Ken

(PS I'm putting some additional reno pics in the bucket if you're interested in our progress so far. Later this week we start the kitchen!! Size wise it's certainly bigger, but since we're not moving any major plumbing or electrical items there should be a lot less detail work than in the baths.)

I'm on iOS 15 also, but was unaware of that plant ID thingy - thanks.

11 - yikes. Trees that close to a house make me twitch a wee bit. Nice shot showing the scale.
Me too! Our house has two 20-30’ crabapple trees that were planted 3’ from the front of the house and were brushing up against it. I had to cut them (and two large arborvitaes and a hydrangea) down and dig out the stumps. What a job.

I know several people that had trees too close to their houses, and the some of trees came crashing down during storms. Heavy damage, luckily no one was injured even though one of the trees dropped right onto one family's master bedroom...

Day 7 - Quite a pile to be moved
Day 8 - Nice renovation, would much rather have a spa like shower than tub. We had a jacuzzi tub installed when we built the house and used it the 1st year. it’s been unused the last 30.
Day 9 - Prety good don’t see a trace of the mulch, great colors and dynamic range.
Day 10 - nice pastels still fairly temperate along the coast.
Day 11 - Amazing the work they do that high up. Had a father son team take down a red oak, thought the 25 year old son would be the tree climber but no it was the 65 year old father in the tree with the chainsaw.
