I am currently using the Nikkor 24-85mm f/3.5-4.5G AF-S for my wide angle lens, which gives me some overlap between it and my 70-200vr. It also ties into the ultrawide 12-24, once I get it.

How benefiical would it be upgrading to the Nikkor 24-85mm f/2.8-4.0D IF Lens, if at all? Is there some other reasonably priced lens that would be better to get... money definately being a factor with some of the other stuff I need.

  2. I believe in the Nikon Holy Trinity:
    17-35, 28-70, 70-200
Pricey but worth every drop of blood.

It may not be in your budget, but the 28-70 f/2.8 is THE lens to fill that gap IMO.
