Well, the CO trip was anything but fun - got there to learn there was snow coming in the next day, so we basically stayed on the road - outran the snow but not the cold, rain, and wind. Got into a sand storm too. Mark had to drop me at a nice truck stop and go buy thermals for me - that was the only thing I didn't pack
Thermals on a motorcycle trip in mid-Sept in Colorado? Definitely! I never went without them. I even needed them on a July 4th trip to San Francisco! LOL! Riders are simply so exposed to all elements of weather..... You were traveling through some mighty pretty country!

Were you able to get any photos during the trip?
NO and it hurts. I understand the urgency to get out of town before the snow, but it was so disappointing = no water falls, no nothing - not even cadellac ranch!
That must be very frustrating! Maybe next time YOU be the one to determine what kind of vacation trip you will be going on, and where and when.....? Of course in all fairness, no one could have predicted that there would be this kind of a snowstorm there in early September.......
Good grief! Well, I'm sure never moving to Colorado, then! I knew you had a lot of snow during the winter, but -- AUGUST? SEPTEMBER???!!! When I read about this year's event I thought it was a freak incident, something out of the norm....
We can have snow 11 of the 12 months here. I seen snow on July 4 a couple of times in my 4o years up here 
Good grief!!!! I think the latest I have ever seen snow here or anywhere else I've lived is in April, and the earliest in mid-October (different years).....

Nest trip to CO we trailer the bike and drive the RV. No more cold, wind, rain, snow, just comfortable riding.
Nothing better than Rv or trailer in the snow ( except white wine with oysters from the lake )
