  2. Excellent Frank. You know, I always wanted to know if the AF version is much different than the AIS lens. It is my understanding they share the same formula. I firmly believe the AIS lens is the better built but, are they optically different?
    Anyway, those are excellent shots.

    can't help you with your question though

    I'm sure the AIS is all metal and tougher than the AF model, like most older lenses

    although I am a fan of limited DOF for flowers

  14. A "real" macro will really get you that limited DOF Frank (especially as you near 1:1). I hereby grant you permission to acquire one - of your choice.

    Will love to see what you would do with it... :biggrin:

    if anyone cares, I took out #1 and 2 for different PP, which I've yet to do
    so #1 now , was # 3...:cool: 

    Rich I am leaning towards an old school 55 3.5
