Bees at botanic gardens today. C&C appreciated. D300, Sigma 180, SB-800
I like bees. What can I say.
these are excellent
and I HATE BEES.....
so, that takes a lot for me to say...
very well done
superb color and sharpness
nie to see the 180 is a great lens also
how did you setup the flash ?
Just on camera using the telephoto gizmo that slides over Randy. Nothing special really.
Thanks for the comments.
Those are incredible! How close do you get to them? I tried taking photos with my 55-200mm VR (since I dont have any macro capabilities yet) and if I get within 3'-5' of the bees they start to swoop at my head. This is kind of "brave" for me since I hate bees.
These are very nice Darren. Thanks for sharing.
One of the reasons I got the 180 Macro (though would have gladly got the 150 Macro also) was so that I did not have to get that close to critters that sting.
These bees were quite happy to feed and didn't really care about me.
I would guess that the front of the hood is about 6 inches away on average on these ones.
..oh, and #1 is full frame to give you an idea
Wow- really great stuff here Darren. Very nice !
