    Hi all,
I just picked up a 4 gb card today. My D 50 does not recognize it. I'm I stuck with a max of 2 gigs?

  2. Try formatting in the computer to FAT32 (?). D50 can only format 2G
  3. The D50 only supports SD cards, not SDHC if I not mistaken, even reformatting probably won't work.

Thanks for the input. I'll take it back today.

  5. Because he was already seeing 2G, reformat couldn't hurt.

You should never put all your eggs in one basket. I carry around small cards. My wedding photographer friend learned a valuable lesson when doing a wedding, he lost all his pictures using one card (300 pictures). I now use multiple 512 cards. May be a hassle...but you never know...and I am not going to learn the hard way. I just have my cards numbered.

  7. Seneca has a good point. I don't go so far as 512, but I do shoot my weddings with 1gb cards and have no plans to upsize them.

Calumet has a deal right now on SD and CF Sandisk Ultra II cards, Two 1 GB cards for $24.99 Amazing how low these things have dropeed!
