Well, I was going thru my Bag and Pulled this gem out.. I really have not had a chance to use it much lately, so I mounted it and Set the Camera to 1.8 and left it there all day..

Started the day by taking Julia to her first days of school..

  2. Something which has worked really well over on POTN (for Canon shooters) is having people start a thread per lens, with a sticky that lists all the threads, so it's easy to find images from a particular lens - how about we start the same over here?

I got to admit, I have been thinking of that for a while.. What I found great about it as well, is when I was going to purchase a new lens, I get an Idea of what to expect Focal length wise. Well, I got this and the 16-85 Thread started.. Someone sticky quickly!

  4. I probably don't use this lens as much as I should, but when I do, the photos it produces still amaze me, so sharp...

This is approx 50% crop of the org and is still sharp...

    I usually use mine 1.8-2.8

flickr user Julius Frumble uses the 50mm quite a lot for street photography and does some pretty amazing stuff...

  10. I've seen a few suggestions here for the Archive threads (one suggestion was from you I believe) and so far it doesn't seem to be something they want to do here. Perhaps a PM to a moderator might be better.

Personally, I think it's a great idea and will make searching and finding samples, reviews, opinions, etc for each lens much easier. That was one thing I always liked about the POTN lens forum.

I particularly liked this one give it is a biggish crop :)

Well my 50mm 1.4 is on the way to the Nikon Factory Center in NY. Since seeing Nute's 50 1.4 shots at 1.4 I realize there is something desperately wrong w/ mine, lol.

These are from the D80 and the 50 1.8 when I owned it. It was a great lens. I loved it.

  16. This is an old one (son is now almost 5). One of my favorites with the 50 1.8 - shot @ f2:

Mine needs to be fine tuned because it front focuses, but it is very sharp stopped down.
