I used to have a 66 Super Hawk. Put a Hap Jones 3mm overbore kit to juice it all the way up to 337cc.

The bike was a joy to look at, not a joy to ride.

  3. Hey Bob...Handling wasn't their strong suit. If memory serves this is the first Honda that could maintain 60 MPH. The Kawasaki 750 triple was the first bike that could lift the front wheel at 60 MPH. They also didn't handle very well hence their name...widowmaker...

    Cheers

Oh it would do well more than 60, but the brakes were crap, the clutch was stiff as hell, it filtered the oil in some sort of spinning drum assembly, and the starter would frag the over running clutch on a regular basis. When the starter would fail, the kick start went the opposite rotation of normal, so when your foot slipped off while kick starting, it would nail you in the shin.

That and they don't charge the battery under 3000 rpm.

Over all, it was a good looking bike...LOL!
