70-200 in the rain?

Rain/Snow for Saturday and I have a 5k race to shoot outdoors. Is the 70-200 VR ok in a rain? The D200 is weather sealed I know.

I don't think any lens is water-proof. I'd cover it with a lens coat.

Don't know, either. Tell us how it works out when you're done. I don't want to make this experiment with my 70-200 VR.
