first off I love my new lens. but here is the question, with the lens mounted it seems there is a little play in the connection. Not loose so to speak
, how to describe it??? It seems you can rotate the lens a little, there is no tilt to it (ie up/down left/right) but it will rotate just a little after attachment. I have not seen this much with my other lenses. Its not much but enough to notice. Any one else seen this, or is it back to the camera shop with me?

Oh and just shot my first Soccer game with it, Now that was fun. I will pop some pictures in sports today.

relax, it's fine, my D200 does the same thing with the 70-200VR, and my D70 also, it's less than 1/16" of movement, no need to worry, take care.

Just an added confirmation, mine does the same.

    Enjoy the new lens!
  4. Same goes for me with the combination mentioned. Also the same thing with the D80. Its "normal" I guess

Just the normal tolerances! You should not have any issues.

Nice, thanks for checking. I have enjoyed this lens too much to take it back
  7. My 80-200 AF-S does the same thing. No worries.
  8. Mine also!
First noticed it with the use of monopod.
No problem using the combo, so i stopped worrying
  9. I took mine to Nikon Canada when I first noticed it and they reassured me it's normal. The technician even pulled out another body and attached my 70-200 to show me it had the same degree of tolerance.
