first off I love my new lens. but here is the question, with the lens mounted it seems there is a little play in the connection. Not loose so to speak
, how to describe it??? It seems you can rotate the lens a little, there is no tilt to it (ie up/down left/right) but it will rotate just a little after attachment. I have not seen this much with my other lenses. Its not much but enough to notice. Any one else seen this, or is it back to the camera shop with me?

Oh and just shot my first Soccer game with it, Now that was fun. I will pop some pictures in sports today.

relax, it's fine, my D200 does the same thing with the 70-200VR, and my D70 also, it's less than 1/16" of movement, no need to worry, take care.

Just an added confirmation, mine does the same.

Enjoy the new lens!

I took mine to Nikon Canada when I first noticed it and they reassured me it's normal. The technician even pulled out another body and attached my 70-200 to show me it had the same degree of tolerance.
