70-300VR and Sidecar Motocross

Discussion in 'Lens Lust' started by oldbloke, Aug 17, 2009.

  1. Very pleased with the all round performance of this lens.

Appears to focus very quickly with the D700.

    All shot wide open.

  2. Very nice photos - that sport is a hoot
  3. Very nice captures! Wonder if a CirPol might have helped in shots #2 and 3.
  4. Great action shots, shot #1 is the favourite.

The combination of the 70-300 VR and the D700 works well for fast sports, I used it a Hawkstone Park earlier this year for the season MX starter.

Good action. I think it would be better to stop down to increase the contrast than to use a polarizer.
  6. Great shots, oh I wish I was young again.
  7. I did have a polariser with me but left it in the car:frown:

Didn't want to stop down as i wanted as much background blur as i could get:smile:

How's this for a bit more contrast.

This is becoming my most used lens.

  8. Cool shots
    I really like this lens.
  9. Nice shots, were you taking them for fun or work?
  10. Awesome shots! Are those at 300mm?
  11. VERY nice! I would be proud of these as I'm sure you are. I like them the way they are. Not over cooked, just right. IMHO. :)

    Nice pics, crazy subject.
  13. No1 165mm
    No2 260mm
    No3 300mm
  14. Fantastic captures. I love this lens and it has been mounted on my D300 for the last two weeks.
  15. Maybe with crappy glass it would be. :frown:
  16. Great pictures, gives me some incentive to put my 70-300 on my D700 more often.

I've read that the 70-300mm VR gets new life with the full-frames. Great shots! I like that you've kept some motion blurring - gives the perception of motion here.
