Nice shots Fred. Very sharp. My only comment would be that you might want to stop down another stop or stop and a half to get the bowing hand or the neck of the instrument's in focus as well. On the other hand, if the intent was to have them out of focus then ignore this comment. :biggrin:

Nice shots! I love this lens for portraits, the compression is nicer than that of the 85 imo, and the bokeh is beautiful. My wife...

Very nice Andrew. Not quite sure about the white balance but it's a very nice portrait of a beautiful lady.

Agreed, not only is the on-camera flash too harsh but the subjects are too close to the wall and the resulting shadows are distracting.

I bounced and diffused the flash. The client wants poster sized prints, and if the edges aren't razor sharp, it won't work big. Hmm.

IMHO it's one of Nikon's finest lenses ever. From portraits to sports you can't beat it. Super sharp and great bokeh too.
