80-200 2.8D-ED + TC help

Discussion in 'Lens Lust' started by Tervueren, Aug 5, 2008.

  1. Thinking of purchasing the above lens, does it suffer badly from using a TC, if you could post some photos it would be a help, thanks

  2. I'm not 100% but I don't think you'll keep AF as the 80-200 AF-D is screw driven,.

  3. The Kenko 300 pro TC will autofocus with the 80-200 2.8. The 2 is difficult to hod by hand or monopod. Either go 1.4X or plan to use a tripod. Fred

  4. are you using the AF-D 80-200 or the AF-S 80-200?

Do the Kenko tubes allow you to still AF with screw drive?

  6. Thanks for the replies, nice shots, were those taken with the kenko fitted, I was thinking of the 1.4 as my hands aren't the steadiest (without some alcohol anyway)
Congrats on your son Jim, good result

  7. It's the AF-D and the screw drive still works with the Kenko tubes.

  8. The 1.4 will also only cost you one f/stop instead of two.
